Smoke From APU Prompts Evacuation of Bhutan Airlines Plane at Kolkata Airport

Bhutan Airlines flight B3-700 was evacuated at Kolkata Airport in West Bengal, India, on September 9th.

The Airbus A319-100 plane was preparing to depart for Bangkok, Thailand, when smoke was noticed emanating from the APU.

The crew initiated an emergency evacuation.

About twenty people were injured and were treated at the airport.

IndiGo Airlines Flight Diverts to Hyderabad due to Medical Emergency

IndiGo AirlinesIndiGo Airlines flight 6E-716 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, in Hyderabad, India, on October 6th.

The plane heading from Kolkata, West Bengal, to Bengaluru, Karnataka, was diverted after a passenger started experiencing chest pain and breathlessness.

The plane landed uneventfully. The patient was rushed to hospital.

IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Medical Emergency

IndiGo AirlinesAn IndiGo Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, on September 21st.

The plane heading from Kolkata, West Bengal, to Bengaluru, Karnataka, was diverted due to a medical emergency.

According to Director, Swami Vivekanand International Airport, Santosh Dhoke, “The aircraft landed here at around 2.30 PM to address the medical emergency after a family complained of a health problem suffered by their two-month old baby.”

The baby was rushed to hospital, however, he could not be saved.

Spicejet Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Kolkata after Tire Burst

SpiceJetSpicejet flight SG 517 had to make an emergency landing in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, on March 1st.

The Boeing 737-900 plane took off from Bangalore and was en-route to Kolkata when the runway inspection crew found tire debris and informed the pilots about tire burst. The pilots in turn requested emergency assistance on arrival in Kolkata.

The plane landed safely. There were 211 passengers and 7 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Coastguard Plane Makes Emergency Landing in India

The plane was returning to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport from a reconnaissance duty when the pilot reported a faulty fan on the left wing and requested an emergency landing.
