Cathay Pacific Flight Makes Emergency Landing in China

Cathay Pacific flight CX-260 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Urumqi, China, on October 24th.

The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Hong Kong, China, was diverted after the crew received an engine oil indication.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

China Southern Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in China

China SouthernChina Southern Airlines flight CZ-6976 made an emergency landing in Lanzhou, China, on December 1st.

The plane flying from Shanghai to Urumqi, China, was diverted after a passenger’s cell phone started emitting smoke.

The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Cathay Pacific Flight Diverts to Urumqi after Air Steward Suffers Stroke Mid-air

Cathay PacificCathay Pacific flight CX289 had to make an emergency landing in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China, on May 7.

The flight was heading from Hong Kong to Frankfurt when a Singaporean air steward Vincent Chee suffered a stroke. The plane was then diverted to Urumqi where it made a safe emergency landing.

Chee was rushed to hospital while the flight resumed with a 4 hour delay.

Authorities confirmed that Chee had died on May 12.
