Condor Flight Rejects Takeoff From Mombasa

Condor flight DE-2282 had to reject takeoff from Mombasa, Kenya, on May 29th.

The Boeing 767-300 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Zanzibar, Tanzania, when one of the engines ingested birds, prompting the crew to reject takeoff

The plane safely returned to the apron.

All two hundred and thirty passengers and ten crew members remained unharmed.

THY Turkish Airlines Plane Diverts to Turkey due to incapacitated Pilot

Turkish airlinesTHY Turkish Airlines flight TK-604 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Antalya Airport, Turkey, on June 24th.

The Boeing 737-900, en-route from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, to Istanbul, Turkey, had to divert after its captain became ill mid-air.

The plane landed safely.

The captain was taken to a hospital.

Bill Clinton’s Jet Makes Unscheduled Landing in Tanzania

A Canadian turboprop Dash 7 jet, carrying former President Bill Clinton, had to make an unscheduled landing in Dodoma, Tanzania on April 29.

The plane was en-route from Iranga to Lake Manyara when one of its four engines malfunctioned. The pilot then had to land near Dodoma fueling station where the engine was repaired.

The aircraft took off again shortly afterwards and safely landed at its scheduled destination.

Clinton was visiting the country to tour projects funded by his foundation.
