Trans Maldivian Plane makes Crash Landing in Maldives

A Trans Maldivian flight made a crash landing at Velana International Airport, Malé, Maldives, on May 27th.

The de Havilland DHC-6-300 flying from Rangali Island, Maldives, had just landed when it tipped over to its left and its nose and left wing was submerged in the water.

All 9 passengers and 3 crew members were taken to hospital for precautionary measures.

The aircraft sustained partial damage.

Maldivian Airlines Plane Suffers Tail Strike While Landing in Maldives

A Maldivian Airlines plane struck its tail onto runway while landing in Kooddoo Island, Maldives, on February 18th.

The incident happened when the plane was performing flight Q2-160 from Kadhdhoo, Maldives.

The plane taxied to apron without further incident.

No injuries were reported.

Emirates Plane Diverts to Mumbai due to Smoke in Cockpit

EmiratesEmirates flight EK-652 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, on July 26th.

The Boeing 777-300 plane en-route from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Male, Maldives, had to be diverted after smoke was noticed in the cockpit.

The plane landed safely. All 309 people aboard remained uninjured.

Maldivian Plane Sinks while Attempting Emergency Landing near Kuredu Island Resort

Maldivian Air Taxi de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter partially sank into sea while attempting an emergency landing near Kuredu Island Resort in Maldives, on July 2.

The plane was flying from Komandoo Resort to Kuredu Island Resort when it touched down hard on the surface of the ocean and sustained considerable damage.

All 11 passengers and 3 crew members remained safe.

The Accident Investigation Coordination Committee and the CAA are investigating the accident.

Bomb Threat Forces Flyme Passenger Jet to Make Emergency Landing

FlymeA Flyme flight had to make an emergency landing at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in Malé, Maldives, at around 11:49 p.m. on November 22.

The plane was on its way from Malé to Baa Atoll Dharavandhoo Island when a passenger passed a written bomb threat to the pilot through a crew member. The pilot then immediately turned back and made an emergency landing in Malé.

There were 11 passengers and 3 crew members aboard at the time; all of them were evacuated safely. Authorities said that 10 out of 11 passengers were foreign nationals while only 1 was local.

The Maldives National Defense Forces (MNDF) searched the plane, however, they did not find any explosives.

The Police are investigating.
