Toronto-Bound Air Transat Flight Suffers Pressurization Problem

Air Transat flight TS-703 made an emergency landing in Toronto, Canada, on January 31st.

The plane was flying from Roatan, Honduras, when the crew reported a pressurization problem.

The crew initiated an emergency descent and subsequently landed safely. All one hundred and sixty-one passengers and six crew members remained safe.

Atlanta-Bound Delta Airlines Flight Diverts After Bird Strike

Delta Airlines flight DL-552 had to divert and make an emergency landing in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on July 23rd.

The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted due to a bird strike.

The plane landed safely. All 110 people aboard remained unharmed.

Southwest Airlines Makes Emergency Landing on Roatan Island

Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing on Roatan Island, Honduras, on May 29th.

The Boeing 737-700 was heading from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, when smoke was detected in the cabin, prompting the crew to divert to Roatan.

The plane landed safely. There were 140 passengers and 8 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Honduras due to Smoke Indication

Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, on May 29th.

The Boeing 737-700, flying from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, was mid air when the crew reported smoke in the cabin, prompting the plane to divert.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 148 people onboard remained unharmed.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Small Plane Crashed in Honduras; 4 Killed

A small, two-engine plane crashed a few kilometers outside of Puerto Lempira, in the La Mosquitia region of Honduras, sometime in the evening of August 16.

The incident happened when the plane was carrying valuables to a bank in Puerto Lempira from Goloson International Airport, La Ceiba.

All 4 people aboard died in the crash. The victims included 2 crew members and 2 security guards.

The cause of accident is not clear at the moment.

Honduras Crash in Rio Abajo


A Bell 407 helicopter carrying Honduran political candidate Juan Hernandez to a rally in Juticalpa developed mechanical problems.

The helicopter made noises indicating problems, fell, and lost its tail in Rio Abajo, Guaymaca. No injuries were reported of the six aboard: Hernandez, wife Ana Garcia, the president of Honduras, Rafael Leonardo Callejas, mayor of Tegucigalpa, Ricardo Alvarez and campaign coordinator, Oscar Alvarez.

The helicopter crashed from low altitude. No cause has been determined for the accident. Hernandez continued on the campaign trail in another chopper.
