U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Coronado

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter made an emergency landing in an empty parking lot near Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado, California, on August 8th.

Authorities said the crew decided to land as a precaution after a warning light in the cockpit came on.

The helicopter landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

U.S. Coast Guard Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Gulfport–Biloxi International Airport

A U.S. Coast Guard C-130 plane made an emergency landing at Gulfport–Biloxi International Airport, Mississippi, on June 20th.

Airport authorities said the crew radioed in, saying that they needed to land at the airport due to smoke in the cockpit.

The plane landed safely. There were six people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

National Guard Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Texas due to Mechanical Issue

A National Guard chopper had to make an emergency landing in a muddy field near Interstate 10, Baytown, Texas, on the evening of August 30th.

The pilot had encountered a mechanical issue mid-air, which prompted him to land.

The helicopter got stuck in the mud. No casualties were reported.

Helicopter Carrying Pennsylvania National Guardsmen Makes Emergency Landing

An Army National Guard helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a field near Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, on January 22.

The Blackhawk helicopter was returning to Fort Indiantown Gap after a training flight when an engine chip warning light came on, forcing the pilots to land in emergency.

There were 2 pilots and 1 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Venezuela National Guard Helicopter Crashes in Colombia

plane crashA Venezuela National Guard helicopter crashed onto a parking lot in Paraguachon, La Guajira, Colombia, on December 28.

Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela’s top diplomat, said, “Adverse weather conditions led to this unfortunate accident. We thank Colombian authorities who provided support to the officers.”

There were two people aboard the Bell helicopter at the time; including the pilot and the co-pilot. Both of them were injured in the crash. They were taken to hospitals in Venezuela.

Colombia’s Defense Minister Luis Carlos Villegas said, “”We will proceed through diplomatic channels with the government of Venezuela to establish where the wreckage will be sent.”

A U.S. Coast Guard plane made an emergency landing at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, Florida, on December 21.

The crew of the C-130 Hercules plane, flying from Air Station Clearwater, declared emergency after noticing a vibrating sound coming from one of the engines.

The plane landed safely with three engines. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
