Malaysia AirlinesSix more coffins containing the remains of victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 were flown to the Netherlands, through a Dutch Air Force transport plane, on November 28.

The plane carrying 298 people was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was presumably shot by a surface-to-air missile fired from a rebel-occupied area of Donetsk region, Ukraine, on July 17th this year. All passengers, including 196 Dutch citizens, were killed in the crash.

A farewell ceremony was held at the runway of Kharkiv International Airport, Ukraine, before the plane departed. The ceremony was attended by Kharkiv governor Igor Baluta, Dutch Security and Justice Minister Ivo Opstelten as well as the officials of the international investigation team and Ukrainian police.

The plane was received by several high level officials, including the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, at the Eindhoven airbase in Netherlands.

The remains were later shifted to a Hilversum-based forensic research facility for identification.
