Miami-Bound American Airlines Flight Hits Turbulence; 1 Injured

American Airlines flight AA-1204 encountered turbulence on the way to Miami, Florida, on February 5th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from San Jose, Costa Rica, when it encountered severe turbulence that injured a flight attendant.

The plane continued for a safe landing. The flight attendant was transported to a hospital.

United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in San Jose

United Airlines flight UA-1079 made an emergency landing in San Jose, Costa Rica, on February 1st.

The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-eight people aboard remained safe.

Plane Crashes in Costa Rica; 12 Killed, Including 10 Americans

A Nature Air plane crashed in the mountains of Guanacaste in Costa Rica, on December 31st.

The incident happened shortly after the plane took off for Juan Santamaria International Airport.

There were twelve people aboard at the time, including ten US citizens and two local crew members. All of them were killed in the crash.

The incident is being investigation.

Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cayman Islands

Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, on April 13th.

The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, was diverted after an electrical odor was noticed in the cabin.

The plane landed safely. There were 123 passengers and 5 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

JetBlue Flight Diverts to Orlando After Bird Strike

JetBlue flight B6-897 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Orlando, Florida, on April 1st.

The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Boston, Massachusetts, to Liberia, Costa Rica, was diverted due to a bird strike.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

United Airlines Flight Diverts to Costa Rica

The plane heading from Santiago, Chile, to Houston, Texas, was diverted due to electrical problems.

Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Honduras due to Smoke Indication

Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, on May 29th.

The Boeing 737-700, flying from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, was mid air when the crew reported smoke in the cabin, prompting the plane to divert.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 148 people onboard remained unharmed.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Copa Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Costa Rica

Copa AirlinesA Copa Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Juan Santamaria International Airport in Costa Rica, at around 10 a.m. on November 30.

The pilot declared emergency after a fuel leak alarm went off, indicating fuel leakage from the aircraft’s left wing.

The plane landed uneventfully and none of the 118 people aboard was harmed.

The aircraft was taken for examination.

Avianca Airlines Jet Returns to San José, Costa Rica

AviancaAn Avianca airlines flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, Costa Rica, at around 2 p.m. on November 24.

The plane had just taken off for El Salvador when the pilot reported issues with one of the engines and a suspected explosion in a turbine. The authorities then advised him to return for an emergency landing.

The plane landed uneventfully. The airline later said it was a transfer flight carrying some crew members and there was no passenger in the plane at the time of incident.

The examination of aircraft showed no signs of fire however, an engine was damaged due to a bird who got stuck in a turbine.

Peru’s LAN Airlines Flight Lands in Emergency at Costa Rica

LAN AirlinesPeru’s LAN Airlines flight LPE-599, made an emergency landing at Juan Santamaria International Airport, Costa Rica, on the evening of July 26.

The decision for emergency landing was made after the Airbus A320, en route from Cancun, Mexico to Lima, Peru, experienced electrical problems.

The plane landed safely after circling around to shed extra fuel. All 175 people aboard remained unhurt.
