United Airlines flight UA-6266 made an emergency landing in College Station, Texas, on December 21st.

The plane heading from Houston, Texas, to Boise, Idaho, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin.

Horizon Air flight QX-2399 had to divert for an emergency landing in Yakima, Washington, on May 29th.

The plane heading from Boise, Idaho, to Seattle, Washington, was diverted after the crew noticed an electrical burning odor on-board.

Horizon AirHorizon Air flight QX-417 made a safe landing after a bird strike in Boise, Idaho, on September 29th.

The plane flying from Portland, Oregon, was on final approach when a bird hit it.

Southwest Airlines Flight Rejects Take Off after Bird Strike

The Boeing 737-700 was accelerating to take off for Las Vegas, Nevada, when its right engine ingested a bird. The pilots rejected take off and safely returned to the apron.

All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Allegiant Air Passengers Evacuate in Emergency due to Fuel Smell

AllegiantThe passengers aboard Allegiant Air flight 330 were forced to evacuate onto the plane’s wing due to fuel smell, on June 12.

The plane, coming from Los Angeles, landed in Boise, Idaho at around 7 p.m.

According to an airline spokesperson, “Upon arrival at the gate, normal deplaning procedures were in progress during which a fuel smell was observed within the cabin…Passengers then initiated an evacuation through the over wing doors…A review of the incident confirmed that at no time were the passengers or crew members on board the plane in danger.”

The airline arranged a replacement aircraft for the return flight.

SkyWest Flight Diverts to Boise Due to Medical Emergency

SkyWestSkyWest Airlines flight 6391 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Boise, Idaho on May 27.

The flight was heading from Eugene, Oregon, to Denver, Colorado, when it had to be diverted due to a sick passenger.

The Canadair Regional Jet 700, carrying 68 passengers, landed safely and the sick passenger was rushed to a hospital.

According to airline spokesperson Marissa Snow, the plane was taken for inspection as it landed “overweight” due to excess fuel. Some of the passengers were accommodated in other flights while the others resumed their journey in another plane Wednesday evening.

Idaho National Guard Helicopter Crashed Near Boise Airport; Two Killed

A National Guard Apache helicopter crashed near Boise Airport in Ada County, Idaho, at around 7 p.m. on November 6.

According to an Army National Guard spokesperson, the helicopter was on a routine nighttime training flight when it crashed near Pleasant Valley Road and Hollilynn Drive.

There were 2 soldiers aboard at the time of crash; both of them were killed. Their names have not yet been released.

Idaho National Guard Commander, Major General Gary Sayler said, “The men and women of the Idaho National Guard are united in grief at the loss of two of our brothers in arms, who gave their lives while training to defend our nation…Today, our thoughts and prayers are with their families.”

The cause of crash is being investigated.
