Westchester County Police Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in New Jersey

A Westchester County police helicopter made an emergency landing in Alpine, New Jersey, on September 28th.

The helicopter was participating in a search operation with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police when the pilot smelled smoke and decided to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft landed in a parking lot at State Line Lookout.

No injuries were reported.

Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Montana

A small cargo plane owned by Alpine Air made an emergency landing at Billings Logan International Airport, Montana, on January 19th.

The plane took off for Sidney, Montana, but had to turn back after the pilot failed to fully retract the landing gear.

The plane’s landing collapsed upon landing. The pilot, who was the only one aboard, remained unharmed.

Four Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Idaho

A small plane crashed near China Beach on the Palisades Reservoir in Idaho, on March 13th.

The Cessna 182 aircraft crashed and burst into flames around 1 mile north of Alpine Airport, from where it departed.

There were four people aboard at the time; all of them were killed in the crash. They were identified as the pilot Jerry “David” Anderson, 40, his wife Jessica Ann Anderson, 38, Thomas “Brook” Summers, 39, and his wife Heidi Summers, 36. All of them were residents of Idaho Falls.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the incident.

2 Killed as Small Plane Crashes Near Idaho-Wyoming Border

A small plane crashed in eastern Idaho near the Wyoming border, on January 4th.

Authorities said the vintage Yak 52 Russian trainer aircraft went down about 2 miles north of the Alpine Airport, Wyoming.

There were two people aboard, including Reade Genzlinger, 61, of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and MacKenzie Ruston, 17, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Both of them were killed in the crash.

The FAA is investigating.
