The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Jazan, Saudi Arabia, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

Oman Air Flight Diverts to Abu Dhabi as Boy Dies On-Board

An Oman Air flight had to make an emergency landing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 12th.

The plane heading from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Kerala, India, was diverted after a four-year-old passenger developed epileptic seizures and passed away.

The plane landed safely.

The deceased was identified as Yahya Puthiyapurayil. He was an Indian citizen.

Emirates flight EK-261 had to return and make an emergency landing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 16th.

The Airbus A380-800 plane took off for Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport, Brazil, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

Air-India Express Flight Diverts to Abu Dhabi due to Medical Emergency

Air-India Express flight IX-322 made an emergency landing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 15th.

The plane heading from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to Calicut International Airport, Kerala, India, was diverted after a passenger complained of pain in his chest and vomited blood.

The plane landed safely.

The patient, Mohammed Salim, 35, was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Royal Jordanian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Doha

Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-611 had to divert for an emergency landing in Doha, Qatar, on May 18th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Amman, Jordan, was diverted after the crew found an unidentified object on-board.

The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

Upon checking, the security forces did not find any hazardous material.

Air Arabia Plane Returns to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport due to Medical Emergency

Air Arabia flight G9824 had to return for an emergency landing at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, United Arab Emirates, on February 26th.

The plane took off for Peshawar, Pakistan, but had to return shortly afterwards after a Pakistani passenger suffered a cardiac arrest.

The plane landed safely. Authorities said the passenger died on his way to the hospital.

Emirates Crashes in Dubai on Go-around

Emirates Airline confirms that “an incident” occurred at Dubai International Airport.

An Emirates Airlines Boeing 777 attempted to go around, but the gear touched down and caught fire. Everyone aboard safely evacuated but the plane burned.

The plane was flying from Thiruvananthapuram, India to Dubai. Aboard were two hundred-eighty-two passengers and eighteen crew.

Dubai Airport reported on Twitter that they will resume departure operations starting 18.30 UAE local time.

Air ArabiaAir Arabia flight G9128 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Al- Minhad Airbase, Dubai, on May 3.

The plane, en-route from Kuwait to Sharjah, had to be diverted after a passenger said it was about to explode.

The airline confirmed that “[the] flight landed safely and the authorities are currently holding the necessary investigation.”

Gulf Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing as Indian Infant Dies Onboard

Gulf airA Gulf Air flight had to make an emergency landing at Abu Dhabi airport, UAE, on the morning of March 2.

The flight, en-route from Kochi to Bahrain, was diverted after an 11-month-old child fell sick.

Medics were put on alert at the airport, however, the child had already died when the plane landed. Her body was shifted to Shaikh Khalifa Medical City.

The child, identified as Rishi Priya, of India, was travelling with her mother Aswani Binoy. Her relatives said she had mild fever when she boarded the plane.

What: RAK Airways Airbus A320-200 en route from Ras Al Khaimah to Kozhikode
Where: Ras Al Khaimah
When: Mar 10th 2012 11.30pm.
Who: 141 passengers
Why: While en route, the plane developed problems with an engine and had to shut it down.

Pilots returned to Ras Al Khaimah where they made a safe landing.

A replacement jet was provided for the passengers. It left for Calicut 6.40am Saturday.

Who: 4 fatalities
Why: After takeoff, the plane veered left and crashed.
The plane caught on fire on impact. 4 US citizens were killed in the crash, including Triple S owner Landon Studer and the company’s international project manager Joshua Hucklebridge. The other victims were pilots from Nevada and California. Triple S has offices in the Middle East and in Texas. The 4 aboard the flight were crew apparently, although their names have not been released.

General Civil Aviation Authority released a report that the black boxes indicated smoke or fire on the main deck and “lower aft cargo compartment” towards the back of the doomed aircraft. The GCAA says investigators are still uncertain of the causes of the crash. Capt Doug Lampe and First Officer Matthew Bell, reported smoke in the cockpit 28 minutes after taking off. UPS Flight 6 was unable to change radio frequency and could not communicate with ATC. During their descent, pilots had difficulty seeing the flight instruments because of thick smoke.

The memorial service for captain Doug Lampe will be held at two o’clock on Monday at Southeast Christian Church, Louisville.
