The incident happened when Prince Mansour bin Muqrin, the deputy governor of Asir province, was conducting an aerial inspection of local infrastructure projects near Abha. Egypt Air flight MS-640 had to return for an emergency landing in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on August 4th. Nesma Airlines flight NE-154 overran the end of runway in Abha, Saudi Arabia, on April 28th. The incident happened after the Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Cairo, Egypt, landed during thunderstorms. The plane was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
