What: BMI Airbus A321-200 en route from London to Beirut
Where: Bucharest Romania
When: Nov 28 2010
Why: While over Bucharest, the plane indicated smoke in 2 cargo holds. On making an emergency landing in Bucharest, no smoke or fire was located. Passengers disembarked and were provided hotel accommodations, and an alternative flight on the 29th.

The plane was grounded for inspections.

What: Alitalia Airbus A320-200 en route from Bucharest Romania to Rome
Where: Bucharest
When: Jul 31st 2010
Who: 92 passengers
Why: The Alitalia Airbus rejected takeoff after one engine ingested a hawk. The plane returned to the gate and after passengers disembarked, they were provided accommodations until the replacement flight takes off tomorrow.

Military Crash in Romania

What: Fortele Aeriene Române Antonov 2
Where: Tuzla Airfield , Romania
When: July 5, 2010
Who: 12 fatalities (14 aboard)
Why: Witnesses described an an explosion in the air a few seconds after takeoff. The plane crashed at the end of the runway. Three seriously injured jumped off, and were hospitalized, but only two have survived.

The plane was normally used for parachutists’ training.

Eight ambulances and mobile emergency intervention teams were on the scene. Two victims suffered multiple trauma There were 12 fatalities of the 14 aboard.

Bâlsanu Captain Daniel was diagnosed with minor bruises and injuries, and military master Marius Nazare was diagnosed with contusions, trauma and burns on 10 percent of his body.
