Mauritanian Embraer Training Flight Crashes

A Mauritanian Embraer EMB 312 Tucano with two aboard crashed in Maurotania in a deserted area while on a training mission flight.

The pilot, Captain Ahmed Ould, was hospitalized at Nouakchott. The pilot survived because after the crash, he was able to exit the plane, according to: http://www.aqlame.com/article12526.html

The mechanic, Ambodj Amado, died at the scene.

7 Die in Mauritani Crash

What: Force Aérienne de la République Islamique de Mauritani Harbin Yunshuji Y-12-II en route from Nouakchott to Tasiast Gold Mine Airstrip
Where: Nouakchott Airport, Mauritania
When: July 12, 2012, 7:45
Who: 7 aboard, 7 fatalities
Why: The pilot, co pilot and five passengers were killed when the plane crashed after takeoff. It was a Mauritanian airforce flight for Kinross Gold Corporation, on the way to the Tasiast gold mine.
