Air Wisconsin Plane Diverts to State College due to Issues with Rudder

Air Wisconsin flight ZW-4245/ AA-4245 had to divert and make an emergency landing at the University Park Airport of State College, Pennsylvania, on May 3rd.

The Canadair CRJ-200 flying on behalf of American Airlines was en-route from Philadelphia to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when it had to divert due to strange motions at high speed and some issue with the rudder.

The plane landed safely.

All 22 people aboard remained safe.

Virgin America Flight Makes Emergency Landing at DFW Airport

Virgin AmericaVirgin America flight VX-762 had to make an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on October 27th.

The Airbus A319-100 plane was flying from to Dallas Love Field, Texas, to LaGuardia Airport, New York, when the crew decided to divert due to rudder issues.

The plane landed safely. All 92 people aboard remained unharmed.

Where: Memphis
When: Dec 13th 2009
Who: 48 on board
Why: After takeoff, the crew received a rudder indication.

The flight returned to Memphis.

A replacement flight was provided to Gulfport.

Aer Lingus Airbus Rudder Failure

What: Aer Lingus Airbus A321-200 en route from London to Cork
Where: Dublin
When: Nov 24th 2009
Who: 117 passengers
Why: Although the plane completed the Cork to London flight, the return leg London to Cork had to divert to London when the plane experienced (non-specific) problems with its rudder.

A replacement flight flew in to Dublin to provide passengers the rest of the return flight.
