Airlink Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Namibia

Airlink flight 4Z-8127 made an emergency landing in Windhoek, Namibia, on January 28th.

The plane took off for Cape Town, South Africa, but had to turn back due to a cabin pressurization problem.

The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

SA Airlink Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Johannesburg

SA Airlink flight SA-8103 made an emergency landing in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 8th.

The plane flying from Harare, Zimbabwe, was descending toward Johannesburg when one of the engines suffered an uncontained failure.

The plane continued for a safe landing. All thirty-four passengers and four crew members remained unharmed.

SA Airlink Plane makes Safe Landing in South Africa after Engine Shut Down

AirlinkSA Airlink flight 4Z-8730/SA-8730 made a safe landing at O. R. Tambo International Airport, Gauteng, Johannesburg, South Africa, on May 18th.

The Avro RJ-85, en-route from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, was mid-air when one of its engines emitted a huge bang followed by streak of flames, prompting the crew to shut the engine down.

The plane landed successfully.

All people onboard remained unharmed.

SA Airlink Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Johannesburg

SA Airlink flight SA-8675 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 7th.

The plane, en-route from Pretoria to Cape Town, South Africa, had to be diverted after one of the engines stopped working mid-air.

The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Why: Prior to takeoff, the hand engine emitted smoke and the plane indicated low oil. Africa’s Civil Air authority grounded the fleet pending a solution from Honeywell and BAE Systems.

Where: George, S. Africa
When: Dec 7th 2009
Who: 30 passengers and 3 crew
Why: While landing during a light rain, the flight overran the wet runway, smashed through the fence and rolled to a stop on a road. There is one report that no one was injured but the plane; and another unconfirmed report that there were four injuries.
