Royal Air Maroc Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Montreal

Royal Air Maroc flight AT-208 made an emergency landing in Montreal, Canada, on October 6th.

The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Casablanca, Morocco, was descending toward Montreal when the crew reported an engine failure.

The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Royal Air Maroc Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Porto

Royal Air Maroc flight AT-997 had to return and make an emergency landing in Porto, Portugal, on September 6th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Casablanca, Morocco, but had to turn back due to an engine failure.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Royal Air Maroc flight AT-981 made an emergency landing in Casablanca, Morocco, on September 9th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Lisbon, Portugal, when the crew declared an emergency due to an engine problem.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Montreal Airport Fire


A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 767-36NER, Flight 206 from Casablanca, Morocco, had touched down at 4:30 p.m.. While the plane was being loaded, the belt loader caught fire.

Two hundred fifty passengers evacuated by slide. Several were injured in the evacuation, and seven suffered smoke inhalation, five of whom were hospitalized. The plane is out of service.

The fire in the belt located by the jet’s cargo door was reported at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport at 4:47 pm on Nov 4, 2013.

An investigation is underway.

Bird strike Leads to Emergency Landing at Lagos Airport

On March 28, 2013, a Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-800 en route from Lagos to Casablanca spent ten minutes in the air after a bird strike on takeoff.

126 were aboard when ten minutes into the flight, there was a bird strike that disabled an engine. The plane circled for about forty minutes to burn off fuel before attempting a return.

When: Jun 6th 2010
Who: 156 passengers and 6 crew
Why: On takeoff, the plane encountered a flock of geese, which resulted in an engine fire, damage to the left engine fan blade and denting the inlet. The engine was shut down, fire suppression engaged, and the crew returned to the airport where they made a safe landing. Passengers disembarked on the runway after less than a twenty minute flight.
