KLMKLM flight KL-765 made an emergency landing in Aruba on May 16.

The plane was heading from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Aruba when the crew reported a suspected fuel leak on the left side.

The Airbus A330-200 plane landed safely and emergency services confirmed a fuel leakage from its left engine. The engine was then shut down before it taxied to apron.

All 203 people aboard remained unharmed.

Engine Trouble Prompts KLM Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

KLMKLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL-765 had to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on September 17.

The twin-engine Airbus A330-200, heading from Bonaire to Amsterdam, was diverted for emergency landing after some problem was discovered in its left engine and the crew had to shut it down.

The emergency teams were put on alert at the airport when the plane safely touched the runway at 9:37 a.m. All 224 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

According to an airline spokesperson, “Due to a technical problem the KL-765 landed safely at Shannon, Ireland. Passengers and crew were not in danger. The passengers travelled to Amsterdam Schiphol with another KLM airplane.”

The aircraft was taken for examination.

Fumes in Cockpit Force KLM’s Flight to Land in Emergency

KLMA KLM Airline Boeing 737 had to make an emergency landing at Norwich International Airport, Norfolk, United Kingdom, at about 2:37 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13.

A KLM spokesperson confirmed that the plane en route from Manchester to Amsterdam landed in emergency after fumes were discovered in the cockpit.

Full emergency protocol was deployed at the airport when the plane carrying 114 passengers touched down. All the passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

The aircraft was taken for examination and repair.

When: Apr 21st 2012
Why: While en route, a leak in the right engine was detected. Pilots shut down the affected engine and returned to Amsterdam where they made a safe landing.

KLM Cityhopper received delivery of the plane on April 1 2010. It has CF34-10E6 engines. (GE)

Inebriated Passenger Attempts Exit During Afrika-Netherlands Flight

What: KLM Boeing 777-200, registration PH-BQB en route from Johannesburg to Amsterdam
Where: Amsterdam
When: Nov 25th 2011
Who: one passenger
Why: While en route, a thirty-one year old male passenger believed to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol became unruly. After harassing other passengers, the passenger ignored warnings of the crew, attempted to open the plane’s emergency exit and cockpit. He was subdued, and on landing in Amsterdam, was handed over to military police.
