The plane flying from Calgary, Canada, was descending toward Seattle when the crew declared an emergency due to smoke in the cabin.

The plane landed safely. All seventy-eight people aboard remained unharmed.

jazzJazz Air flight QK-8758 had to make an emergency landing in Montreal, Canada, on November 7th.

The plane flying from Rouyn-Noranda, Canada, declared an emergency after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to torque fluctuations and engine vibrations.

The plane took off for Sept Iles, Quebec, Canada, but had to turn back after the crew reported difficulties in flying left turns.

Jazz Plane makes Safe Landing in DC after Bird Strike

The Canadair CRJ-200, en-route from Montreal, Canada, was about to land when a bird impacted one of its engines.

The plane landed uneventfully.

Jazz Air Plane Rejects Takeoff in Canada due to Issue with Flight Control System

jazzJazz Air flight QK-8417 had to reject takeoff at Kelowna International Airport, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, on April 20th.

The De Havilland Dash 8-300 was about to takeoff for Vancouver, Canada, when the crew reported some problem with its flight control system.

The plane returned to the apron.

The flight was cancelled.

Jazz Flight Diverts to Canada due to Smoke in Cockpit

jazzJazz flight QK-8833 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Canada, on November 21.

The Canadair CRJ-100, en-route from Moncton, Canada, to Montreal, Canada, had to divert due to smoke in its cockpit.

The plane landed safely.

All 22 people aboard remained unhurt.

Jazz de Havilland Plane Returns to Québec due to Engine Issue

jazzJazz performing flight QK-8703 had to return and make an emergency landing at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Québec, Canada, on October 20.

The de Havilland Dash 8-100, en-route to Montreal, Canada, had to return due to an issue with its left engine. The crew had to shut the engine down mid-air.

The plane landed uneventfully.

All 33 passengers and 3 crew members aboard remained safe.

Flight Slides off Runway


On January 9, 2013, a Jazz Air flight operating as Air Canada Express–flying a de Havilland DHC-8-402Q Dash 8 made a safe landing at John G. Diefenbaker International Airport in Saskatchewan Canada.

The plane was taxiing when it struck ice, and veered off runway into snow where it was mired, blocking the runway.

The fifty-six passengers aboard evacuated with the assistance of emergency crews at about 6:30 after waiting about half an hour for a Saskatoon Transit bus from Tarmac to the gate. Weather conditions at the time were reported as heavy fog causing and near zero visibility in Saskatoon. It looks really cold, doesn’t it?

What: Air Canada Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300 en route from Calgary Edmonton
Where: Edmonton
When: Dec 19th 2010
Who: 3 aboard
Why: While on autopilot approach to Edmonton and flying 6-7 nautical miles behind a Boeing 767-300, the plane was affected adversely by wake turbulence.

The crew disengaged autopilot and recovered from a 30 degree roll to make a safe landing.

Why: After takeoff, an odor developed in the rear cabin. The crew returned the plane to Washington as a precautionary measure. It seems a light and air vent unit was the source of the odor.
