The plane took off for Delhi, India, but had to turn back after the crew noticed engine vibrations.

GoAir Flight Diverts to Chennai After Medical Emergency

GoAir flight G8-465 made an emergency landing in Chennai, India, on November 13th.

The plane heading from Port Blair to Mumbai, India, was diverted after an elderly passenger complained of chest pain.

The plane landed safely at Chennai Airport.

Authorities said Vijay Kulkarni, 78, collapsed and died shortly after landing.

GoAir Flight Diverts to Nagpur due to Medical Emergency

A GoAir flight made an emergency landing at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, India, on October 22nd.

The plane heading from Ahmedabad to Kolkata, India, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

The plane landed safely.

Passenger Dipansha Jitendra Gangwani, 43, was examined by a team of doctors at the airport and was declared dead.

The plane heading from Kochi to Mumbai, India, was diverted after the crew noticed a technical issue.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were one hundred and sixty-six passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

GoAir Flight Returns to Delhi After Bird Strike

GoAir flight G8-338 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on June 21st.

The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Mumbai, India, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

The plane landed uneventfully. All one hundred and fifty-five passengers aboard remained safe.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

GoAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Delhi Airport

GoAir flight G8-557 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India, on February 8th.

According to the airline, the plane took off for Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, but had to turn back “due to technical reasons.”

The plane landed safely. All 187 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

Delhi-Bound GoAir Plane Hit by Lightning

GoAirGoAir flight G8-102 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, India, on July 9th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane, flying from Kolkata, declared an emergency after lightning struck it causing the windshield to crack.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 180 passengers remained safe.

GoAir Flights Diverts to Nagpur Over Bomb Threat

GoAirGoAir flight G8 243 made an emergency landing in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, on January 23.

The plane, heading from Bhubaneshwar to Mumbai, was diverted after the authorities received a call saying there was a bomb in the aircraft.

The plane landed safely. There were 150 passengers onboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

An airline spokerspon said, “After deplaning the 150 passengers, checks were conducted by the airport security and there was no bomb found onboard the aircraft. Post clearance from the authorities, the passengers are now being boarded and flight is scheduled to take off at 12 noon to Mumbai. The GoAir officials at Bhubaneshwar immediately informed the local and the police is investigating the matter.”

Bird-Struck GoAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad

GoAirGoAir flight 368 had to return and make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, at around 9:30 a.m. on November 11.

The plane, carrying 116 passengers, was forced to return after a bird hit it just minutes after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The flight was heading to Mumbai at the time.

The plane landed safely and none of the passengers and crew members was injured.

Acting Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport S P Pandey confirmed that the passengers were accommodated in another flight.

GoAir Emergency Landing

Former Army Chief General V.K. Singh was on his way to Mumbai to launch his book at the ongoing Mumbai Literary Festival when the GoAir flight he was on with about 100 passengers had a fire alarm and was forced to return to IGI airport forty minutes after it left.

Passengers were provided an alternative flight.

One person was injured during emergency exit procedures.

GoAir Emergency Landing in Chennai

A 2:10p.m GoAir flight G8302 Airbus A320 from Chennai to Mumbai made an emergency landing when the plane filled with smoke, probably from the air conditioning vents.

As soon as the plane made a safe landing, passengers disembarked and were moved a safe distance from the plane. There were over 50 passengers aboard.

The plane made it halfway to Mumbai when the pilots had to turn back to Chennai.

The problem is probably the AC system. An investigation is underway.

Who: 165 passengers and 6 crew
Why: After taking off from Delhi, the flight returned within eighteen minutes due to an indication of smoke in the cockpit. Emergency services was on standby. VT-WAM is a new plane.

A faulty sensor was blamed for the indication.

Fog Diverts Delhi Flight to Patna

What: Go Airways en route from Lucknow to Delhi
Where: Patna
When: October 22, 2010
Why: While en route, weather (fog) developed in Delhi, and the flight diverted to Patna where it made a safe landing. There were no injuries. However the passengers were upset, as they pressured for information about when they would be able to continue to Delhi.

Where: en route
When: Jul 17th 2010
Who: 134 passengers and 6 crew
Why: While en route, the Go Air Airbus encountered a bird. The plane returned to Indore and made a safe landing. Mechanical damage occurred to the plane, although it is not noted exactly where, or if the bird was ingested in the engine.

The flight was cancelled and passengers were rebooked.

Who: 154 passengers
Why: After the Airbus was cleared to land, reconstruction work apparently impeded the flight’s landing, and sent crews running for cover. The second approach also failed, but the plane landed safely on the third pass. The incident is under investigation.

GoAir Airbus Emergency Landing in India

What: GoAir Airbus A-320 flight from Mumbai–a new plane delivered in November 2007
Where: Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport
When: Thursday evening at 1648 hours (around 5 pm.)
Who: Undetermined number of passengers on board. (From 114 to 223 passengers were reported to us.)
Why: After Air Traffic Control visually verified the nosewheel was stuck, the Airbus landed safely. There was significant drama on board, however, as passengers in the front eleven rows of the plane were directed to move toward the back prior to the landing. Credit for the safe landing was given to Captain Hardeep Singh. All air traffic was put on hold untill the Airbus plane had made a safe landing.
