Air Madagascar Plane Makes Safe Landing in Madagascar after Engine Problem

Air Madagascar flight MD-530 made a safe landing at Toamasina Airport, Madagascar, on April 1st. The Avions de Transport Regional ATR- 72- 212A, flying from Sainte Marie, Martinique, was about to land when one of its engines started emitting black smoke. The plane landed uneventfully. According to a unanimous decision by the European Commission’s Air Safety Committee, Air Madagascar is the latest Airline blacklisted by the EU. The decision was made during the 5 – 7 April meeting.
