On July 15, 2013, an Aero Expreso del Pacífico Cessna 402B Utiliner with eleven aboard was en route from Gerardo Tobar López Airport to Pizarro Airport when it developed mechanical problems. Runway conditions and weather conditions may have contributed to the problem.
Pilots made an emergency landing in Pizarro, Bajo Baudo, Chocò, Colombia.
The two pilots and nine passengers were uninjured.
The nose of the plane and the right wing sustained damage. Colombian Marine Brigade No. 2 troops removed the plane from the crash site.
