Aeroflot Airbus Rejects Takeoff in Russia due to Bird Ingestion

AeroflotAeroflot flight SU-1165 had to abort taking off at Rostov-on-Don Airport, Russia, on October 29.

The Airbus A320-200, en-route to Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow, Russia, rejected takeoff at a high speed after one of its engines ingested a bird.

The plane landed uneventfully.

No one was injured.

Aeroflot Flight Lands in Emergency due to a Drunk Passenger

AeroflotAn Aeroflot flight had to make an emergency landing in Yerevan, Armenia, at 5:00 am on August 26 due to a drunk Azerbaijani passenger.

The flight was on its way from Dubai to Moscow when a drunk Azerbaijani passenger started speaking loudly, insulting others and bothering the children. According to one of the passengers, “There were lots of children and foreigners. A man at nearly 30-35 years of age started to shout and molested children. The stewardesses failed to cope with him. Then 6 male passengers caught the man and bound him to the seat.”

The plane landed safely. The pilots tried to hand over the man to the Armenian police, but they refused to accept him. The man was finally tamed with sedatives to continue the fight with a 3 hours delay.

The man was eventually detained by the Moscow police.

Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow

A plane that left Moscow, Russia, for Yerevan, Armenia, had to return and make an emergency landing at Moscow Airport due to technical problems, on May 25.

The plane, belonging to Aeroflot Company, landed successfully at the Sheremetyevo International Airport, about 30 minutes after it took off.

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan was also aboard the plane. He was in Moscow to attend the 3rd conference on international security.

Aeroflot Flight 528 was a Yakovlev 40 that crashed on June 19, 1987 while flying from Odessa to Berdyansk with five crew and twenty-four passengers. In the crash, 2 crew died and 6 passengers. The aircraft approached with a tailwind. in heavy rain. A go-around was aborted. The plane overran the runway, struck obstacles and caught fire. Among the multiple causes of the crash was the decision to land at Berdyansk in bad weather and poor visibility. Poor human resource management at the control tower and lack of data from the weather station were contributing factors
