Australia Ground Collision

On landing on Oct 24, 2013 at Hamilton Airport, a training flight in a Waikato Aero Club Tecnam P2008 struck a parked Cessna 172. The twenty-five year old student pilot, parked vehicle and training vehicle all suffered injury. The parked Cessna sustained the most damage.

Witnesses say that the pilot managed to get the plane under control as he was landing, reducing the severity of the incident. Impact occurred at low speed.

The plane came down hard, damaging the Tecnam’s undercarriage, and the pilot’s nose and back. The pilot is suffering from shock.

This is the first incident in the year old plane the student was flying. He was hospitalized at Waikato Hospital.

Tecnam Crash in the Ukraine, 4 Aboard

Where: Kiev Ukraine
When: Mar 11, 2011
Who: 4 aboard, 4 fatalities
Why: The plane owned by International Aviation Training Center fell in a tailspin and crashed near Vasilkova. It was a new plane, and the cause of the accident has not been determined. It is however, the second problem this plane has had. On its first flight it apparently had to return after 20 minutes due to problems.

Commemorative Plane Crashes in Italy

What: Claudio Rosset Tecnam P92-JS
Where: Cima Tre Scarperi, Dolomiti di Sesto Italy
When: Sept 11 2010
Who: pilot and passenger, both fatalities
Why: The Dobbiaco tourist flight which took off at 11:50 a.m. crashed into the side of a mountain near the village of San Candido, in a remote and difficult to reach location. The wreckage is in a ravine Dolomites of Sesto, the border between Veneto and Alto Adige.. The plane is a complete write off.

Aboard were former deputy mayor of Pordenone Claudio Rosset and his partner Michael Marconi. Rosset had been piloting another plane which crashed in 2001.

The plane is part of the dell’Areroclub fleet.
