British Airways Jet Rejects Take Off after Engine Ingests Bird

British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA-491 rejected take off from Gibraltar International Airport in Gibraltar, on June 7th.

The plane was accelerating to take off for Heathrow Airport, London, United Kingdom, when one of the engines ingested a sea gull, prompting to pilots to reject take off.

The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

The flight was cancelled.

EasyJet Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Portugal

EasyjetEasyJet flight U2-7612 made an emergency landing in Lisbon, Portugal, on June 8th.

The Airbus A320-200 aircraft was flying from Madrid, Spain, when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a technical issue.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 182 people aboard remained safe.

Southwest Airlines Flight Rejects Take Off after Bird Strike

southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines flight WN-251 had to reject take off from Boise Airport, Idaho, on June 7th.

The Boeing 737-700 was accelerating to take off for Las Vegas, Nevada, when its right engine ingested a bird. The pilots rejected take off and safely returned to the apron.

All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

SkyWest Airlines Plane Returns to Michigan to ADG deployment

SkyWestSkyWest Airlines flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Detroit, Michigan, on June 4th.

The Canadair CRJ-200, en-route to Ithaca, New York, had to return shortly after the crew reported that its ADG (Air Driven Generator) had deployed.

The plane landed uneventfully. All people onboard remained safe.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.
