LDS Church-chartered plane brought COVID cases to a remote Pacific nation

The island nation of Kiribati has been almost entirely COVID-free until a plane, chartered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, landed there earlier this month. “Thirty-six people on a flight from Fiji tested positive on landing,” reported The Washington Post. “All 54 passengers were isolated at a facility, but at least four cases were since reported in the community, including a security guard at the isolation center.”
